hi, i have just bought a long stored crx and its a 87 crx si fuel injected.

idle on start goes to 3.500 rpm,

anybody had high idle problemss on this gen crx and civics,

what should i do or check first ?

Cold idle is normally high, but mine is only about 2200-2500. Check for vacuum leaks if once the car is warm it is still above about 700-800

 

no vacuum leanks, but what else could it be ?? clogged intake or sensors ? im not to femilur with the 84-87 years of honda problems anybody have experience with model crx like mine and had high idle ? and when u rev it it has a rev hang >?

 

Estimated time it was stored?

Is that the idle once the car is at operating temp? If not was it it at operating temp?

Have you cleaned the throttle body? Does it feel like the butterflies are sticking? With no pressure on the accel pedal do the butterflies appear fully closed?
