1990 integra GS good for roadtrack racing
Well knowing for sure that I can not afford a type R. would a GS make a good alternative. I know it is underpowered, but what about the suspension. It does have a wishbone suspension, but can it handle the turns pretty good ? I will be using coilovers?
I have searched youtube for any videos but come up empty. Any help would be appreciated.
BTW I found a manual Intergra GS with only 24,000 original miles and owner. Thanks

You would be massively underpowered unless you were going to do a swap. In that case an RS would be a good choice or just get a GS-R, they are a lot cheaper than R's.
My old car was a 1990 LS. It was LS-Vtec when I got it, then that broke. Before I sold it for the ITR it had a B16 with grinding LS trans and I was still able to get top 6 of 40something at my first small oval event. And did well in other things. I guess it depends mainly on your driving, and some parts, but mainly your driving :-)

To answer your question, it would be fine. A GS would be equivalent to an ITA/H4 car, and there are tons of them running around. There will be minor differences ultimately resulting in the car being capable of slightly slower laptimes, but that does not make it any less capable of track duty in general. Go forth searching for "Integra" in the RRAX forum, and forget the GS designation, which is nothing but a trim level (LS/RS/GS/SE are all essentially the same, minus a sunroof here or there).

If by roadtrack racing you mean SCCA/MC/NASA road racing using their prep rules, then the 2nd gen Integra is an excellent choice. Do some Google searches and try another you tube search (I know of a couple guys posting videos on their). In 2008 2nd gen Integras won the SCCA ARRC race, MC Season Championship, and was leading the H4 NASA Championships (3 different cars).
As mentioned, the GS is simply a trim level. Everything that makes a GS a GS can be removed per road racing rules, so the GS is just as good as the LS or RS (There is a slight difference in prep if the car has a sunroof or not, but as far as I'm concerned neither has an advantage). The GS-R is a trim level that matters, as that car has the 1.7L VTEC and is classed in ITS.
In ITA (which I am familiar with), the Integra is a power car meaning it is on the high end of the class for power and the high end for minimum weight. I assume the same is true for H4.
If you are looking to build a car, I learned too late that the 92-93 cars have a slightly higher lift intake cam and a better transaxle that you can actually find aftermarket parts for. Keep that in mind if you are still looking for a car. Its not really that big a deal, as I currently own a 90 LS chassis/body with a 93 engine and 92 transaxle.
