KYB AGX and Tein S-Tech
5th Gen Prelude
I currently have Tein S-tech springs on stock shocks and want to upgrade my shocks. I have been reading online that KYB AGX and Tein s-tech combination is not to bad of a combo.
Anyone running this setup? If so, what would be the ideal settings to run these? I know the spring rates are 240F 210R.

I've also read that the KYB's don't do well(longevity) with anything other than stock spring rates. If your looking for adjustable shocks rebound and height than Koni. If not than maybe tokico illumina's.

My cousin had KYB AGXs with his Eibach Sportlines. It rode pretty sweet. However he always had it at the stiffest settings front and rear so i dont know what would happen under the softer settings...
I used to have s.techs with my AGX on my 5th gen, great combo for daily driving but insane body roll at autocross lol. Plus, they fall within the warranty range of drop height so if the shocks blow you can get replacements. I'd go for it. No need for Konis when the spring rate isnt increased much over stock

i bought my car from a friend who put kyb agxs and skunk 2 coilovers in it in 2000. a good set up 9 years ago. they have held up fine. dont handle great. so if you are just looking for a good shock for daily driving they will work fine.

if you have the money, buy a set of koni's, they come with lifetime warranty and you can mate em up to a set of ground control coilovers with your choice of spring rates in the future if you want the ride height adjustability
Ive known many people running on the kyb's for many years and they love it. Its all preference and personal driving habits. My car is not going to be a track car as it will be occasionally used through some twist and turns. DD most of the time.
Use on the softest setting and it will be quite a good setup. Could use an extra 50lbs in spring rate, but for daily driving you won't notice much of a difference.
