Question about Smoged and Suspension
This is the first time I'm going to smoged my car since I bought it second hand.
I have the GC/ Koni combo and my rear springs when the car is jacked up it goes down. I know I will need some helper springs to do the job.
I read somewhere in this forum that some member has the same problem and he sent his car to be smoged and that did not passed. I don't know what suspension got to do with smoged anyway.
Can someone clarify this.

Suspension has nothing to do with emissions. Unless an aftermarket suspension component is hitting or rubbing against an emissions related part.
What/why are you trying to say/do here?

You can be missing brake lights, lug nuts, and all kinds of other safety hazards, and pass a smog check (been there, done it).
In those states that do actual inspections, some people have reported that free springs at full droop can result in a failure for the inspection. This isn't a concern in Cali.
WTH that is the weirdest thing i have ever heard??? Im glad to hear that there is another state with stupider laws than us!
Well being as how all three of us are in Cali he should be good.

I want to say that any car registered in any country in Europe must have fully captured springs, even at full droop. That law is certainly nothing out of the ordinary.
I'm just glad we have visual inspections only for lights, signals, horn, and wipers, and that's it, for $5. No looking under the hood, no emissions testing, and most any oil change place can do it for you.
