Miracle Cross Bar Problem
Hi guys Aussie guy here
Ok so im buying a geniune miracle cross bar from japan but I have a problem.
I need to keep my rear seat belts.
Is it possible to put an extended bolt in?
Or will I have to have no rear belts.
I kinda need them as this is a street car and all.
Edit:
I have a dc2 haha forgot to add that.
Thanks,
Andrew

That pic shows the belt passing through the slot normally occupied by the belt outfeed behind the panel. There's supposed to be that same triangular belt guide (like you see on the B-pillar by the front seat) up there on the bolt where those bars are all attached.
What is the point of having seat belts in the rear with these bars anyway? Allowing people to ride in the back with those bars is a completely stupid, idiotic thing to do anyway.
If you must have the rear belts in place to pass a visual inspection or something for registration, then don't use the bars. I should hope that if rear belts are a requirement for registration that they would fail you if they saw both the bars and the seat belts in place.

It is legal for me to have the bar and passangers.
I wont be carrying more then 1 passanger but its for if I ever get pulled over so I can have it legal.
Does anyone want to help me out?

No. Legal or not, carrying a passenger with those monkey bars back there is a good way to get said passenger KILLED if a car were to rear-end you. Do you really want to carry that responsibility and risk on your shoulders?
Im not having passangers in there, the only reason for the belts is because its registered as a 4 seater so I need the belts in there.

1) Keep the playground theme with the monkey bars and copy the picture posted exactly, knowing how unsafe it is.
2) Throw away or sell the stupid bars and have a usable seat.
I think I get what you were saying now, when you said you won't be carrying more than one I'm guessing thats the front seat guy. As for the rear seat belts can't you take out that C-clip on the upper mount and take the bolt out then drill out the mount so your bar bolts pass through?

I would have it registered as a 2 seater but it's my daily so I kinda don't want to have to redo it when I want it to be a 4 seater again.
I'll also be getting padding and putting it over it and cutting a section into my parcel shelf like this because I don't really care about the jdm points for anything other then meets. Most of which I dont even attend.

If anyone else has anymore input on how I can do it post up

Im presuming I can take apart the end section and go buy a longer bolt?
So if you don't care about being a JDM hardparker, why buy the bars in the first place?
"Sure, you can have the seatbelts. But, it would be stupid as hell. And fking pointless, sir."

All in all, NO. Just buy a strut bar. LIVE WITH IT.
Jeez lu-eeeeez.
yes you can retain the rear seat belt mounting points, like you said, just get extended bolts. if you do have rear passengers in the back please put padding on.
you're on ozhonda too right? should have just asked there, heaps of people are rocking the x-bars in australia including myself.
