Milky oil in catch can? Smells like gas too..

hey just wondering if milky lookin oil is normal in a catch can? It also smells a bit like gas....here is some pics

Here is the setup, and pic of setup. The holes on the vc are not baffled, i made a custom baffle but it didnt seem to work too well.

Yeah, it's probably just condensation and a little gas smell from blowby. If you mounted the can up higher it would probably collect a lot less.
Do you beat on the car a lot or just mostly cruise around? How long/how many full boost runs did it take to get that much?

its normal guys. has anyone opend a oil cap on a ford in winter lately? you will find the same thing. fords do the same thing around there oil cap. and when we setup oil catch cans and stuff we get the same substance. its normal.
What about the guys running a return line to the block? Are they sending in oil mixed with water from the condensation? Is the amount minimal since the oil drains back as soon as the vehicle no longer is under load? Thanks

I do beat on the damn thing heh, if im cruising the can will never fill up. It takes about 2 weeks to get it full, with a lot of 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear pulls. Im gonna try and figure out something with it tho, i think im gonna run 1 more can beside that one and maybe 1 more or 2 more -10 lines to that one. I have to add a quart of oil every 3 weeks, i mean thats not bad i guess like $10. And the oil is always fresh in the car? lol

Normal condensation plus oil plus gas = milky gas smelly mixture in the catchcan.

It's no different than a car with no catch can. Most of the condensation inside the cranckcase will turn to water vapor once the engine warms up.
