Default Opinions on Spoon/Mugen radiator caps...

I need a new radiator cap so I thought I might as well look into a Spoon or Mugen cap. Are there any downsides to putting a higher pressure cap on? Would the increased pressure cause older or poorly treated systems to leak easier? Is it worth about twice the amount of an OEM cap.

IMO it's not worth it. Too expensive for just a 'cap'.

Those radiator caps aren't that expensive to begin with. It can be had for $30 or so.

I think someone did a comparison between the Spoon and the Mugen. He preffered the Spoon for the extra 5 hundredths of pressure, go figure

Go for whatever is cheaper. I'll bet the OEM is about the same price if not higher.

A friend of mine who's a tech at Acura recommended I buy a new one. I guess the seal was worn or corroded.

Stock 1.1 BAR
Mugen 1.3 BAR

Increases the pressure in the system, therefore raises the boiling point of the fluid...for an additional $15 get the Mugen

Spoon 1.35 bar. More pressure = more efficiency in the cooling system.

You can also get a GReddy or Blitz radiator cap which also has 1.3kg pressure rate.

Unless you live in really really hot climate zone or road racing, I would not change stock one if I were you.

Are you the seller by chance? I think I've seen gt-sport as a seller on ebay. What about a Honda-tech discount?
