I just sold this to my cousin a few weeks back, but he can't pay me the rest of the amount due to losing his job. He was going to come up to MN and pick it up beginning of June but can't anymore, so I'm selling it again and hopefully I can sell it for GOOD THIS TIME. Here's the story on my car. I bought it last July from a dealer and thought I bought a stock car. Unfortunately it wasn't once I had my mechanic check it out. It came with an upgraded turbo (VF22), BOV, and engine management/piggyback. The car also came with an unaligned steering wheel, non-working passenger fog light, bad rotors/pads and short shifter. Two days after I got the car, my car was hit on the driver side door and fender while I was at work. I had to park on the residential street that day. It was a hit and run and no one saw anything as I asked everyone around. The car ran fine the first two weeks but then it started acting up. So some friends who own Subaru's told me to get bigger injectors installed. So I did, but drove the car untuned for a week, No boost though! I got it tuned, and ran GREAT! Then a week after the tune, the block spun a bearing. I called the dealer for my warranty, car had only 28k, and they agreed to take my car in for a new block replacement. Took 3 weeks to get it done and a few days before they were going to put my motor back together, the tech told me I had a aftermarket clutch and axles!! HOW MUCH MORE OF A STOCK CAR CAN I GET!!? And that the clutch is showing heat pretty good. They quoted me $1700 to get it fixed, BUT no can do, I'm broke!! I said leave it, I'll do it down the road. Since then, I never drive the car hard, I don't ever see past 4k. A week after I got the car back, it ran good, like stock, but once the cold winter temps hit, the Famous gas leak happened. The WRXs from 02-05 are known for a gas leak under the intake manifold due to weak rubber lines and inaccurate length of the hard fuel lines. Dealer quoted me $800 to fix it, but I had no money, so I orderd the lines and did it myself. In the month of December, I owed someone money so I had to sell the stock oem wheels(wished I didn't, I KNOW). The car is still on winter wheels/tires. So to conclude my overwhelming past 10 months.............

I got the door and fender fixed - looks great
Brand new block with 2500 miles on it currently
Gas smell is gone and not leaking!
Car runs like stock again with everything stock
Clutch is good. Exedy OEM.
32k currently on the car. Clean title in hand.

Only concern now is the brakes and steering wheel alignment.

I'm overwhelmed with this car and I've spent too much time and money on it and I'm going to spend more money if I keep it. I don't have my job anymore and as with everyone else, bills are calling in and mailing in. I really wish I can keep this car but with the situation that I'm in, it doesn't call for a car like this. I really hope someone will take this car in and give it the life it deserves. IT runs good now and will run for a long time, guarantee, just minor repairs IMO. Car is a non smoker. Good luck 12K is going to be hard when STI's of that year you can get almost for 17K or cheaper with the economy the way it is..

 

Economy is tough, but I haven't seen a '04-05 wrx go for less than $12k here in MN or even the midwest.
