bronze guides VS oem steel
So I take my head to my machinist to have some work done guides,seals,3angle valve job.I tell him about my smoking problem, and he tells me that he thinks that the oem guides last way longer than the bronze.bronze tend to wear out faster then the oem steel.I would think he knows what he's talking about since he's been doing this for 30 plus years.but anyways he's going to measure the inside diamiter of my guides and the valve to see if there in spec.if there not in spec he said he would change the guides, but if they were in spec that he wouldent bother with the bronze.does this sound right or does this guy not no what he's talking about.
what are you bumping this for? A machinist that's been in the game for 30 years, and one of the best builders on this forum gave you the same answer. If you don't trust your machinist, find a new one.
