Video, First outing with new CRG Road Rebel
Sold my quasi H1 CRX that turned out to be a complete nightmare for 2 CRG karts and some cash. I will race the last three Rotax Max masters races in norcal at Infineon Kart track, just testing to get up to speed. Currently 3-4 seconds per lap off competitive times, but not bad considering I only have about 5 hours seat time in 125's. Here is a session recorded with my Go pro hero helmet cam....plan to race these for 2 years, then race Spec Racer Ford in SCCA...no more production cars

Nice Kart!
Who was that with you in the support area Chris Shaw?
Practice being smooth.... speed will come.
Leave the rumble strips alone... Have fun... Karts are awesome!

Sold the CRX for two karts and some cash...yes, it was indeed a nightmare. That was a very very poorly maintaned racecar and a lemon when I bought it...not just my opinion by the way.
Thanks for the advice about the curbing, you are right, it slows you down. I just need seat time and I'll be fine...ton of fun, but I will look forward to getting in an SRF in a few years. I'm getting testing and race support from David Carrasco at infinity Karting. He is even storing the Kart...I literral just arrive and drive it. It's worht he $$ for the lack of hassle and peace of mind.

IF thoes 2 karts came from so cal, and one of them is a kali, it probably is my old CRG!!! If so, its motor is one of the fastest Rotax's i have ever run. I stood over the tech and basically rebuilt it with him when it was new ,, and now it has really low time on it.
Regarding karting being as fun as driving,, it is different, but yes extremely fun,, just be carefull, it can be very dangerous if you are not carefull.
I basically took a year off from car driving and immersed myself in karting. I had private instruction from the Moran family which included instruction on data and chassis set up. this instruction was some of the best investment in driving i have ever made. If you do decide to go back to car driving you will be sooo much better !!!!
have fun, and on the rotax's chech/replace the exhaust packing often (less than 10 hours)

Yes,
It is your old Kart! I will be returning to racing in 2 years, it is a defiinitive plan. I'll return to race Spec Racer Ford. Thanks for the tips. I do have some good coaching/instruction here, and I have invested in all the safety equipment; 360 device for head and neck, A Stars suit, rib protection, etc.

Thats awesome ! sounds like you are doing all the right things.
Try to learn about kart set up and tire management,,, I really did not want to become an expert in go kart alighnment and set up,,, but as much as i resisted learning it I had to. By learning this stuff you will be able to communicate and determine changes for the kart. And in karting set up is everything, at the races you often have to change/alter set up from one session to the next.
If nothing else it makes you not afraid to change things ,,, and never settle for just good enough!!
I miss karting a lot. I just could not afford bolth.
One other note, changing seat mounting position is a really effective way to alter handling.
In Europe they use this a lot more than in the US. Some of the karters seats look like swiss cheese
