Alright, just picked up a daily. Its 95 civic with a D15b7 motor. The car is completely stock and the motor has about 200,xxx miles on it. Well anyways, I noticed that during high RPM's it starts to smoke alot "White smoke". So my first guess was a blown head gasket. But anyways, my question is: Can a blown head gasket cause my motor to start idle high then low every 2 seconds? And i noticed during cold start up, it idles perfect, but when you start driving to regular motor temps it starts to idle like its about to bog down. And the motor temp rise's high after 20-30 minutes of spirited driving. Will changing my head gasket fix the motor from rising in high temps and stop the white smoke that comes out during high rpms? Ok thanks!

Alright, since no one helped me from before thanks! But anyways, changed the head gasket already. Its running fine again, not over heating or bogging. But it is still smoking quite alot of white smoke still? It smells normal and not sweet like coolant like last time, its just smoking alot of white smoke, especially when im giving it throttle, theirs alot of white smoke behind me? Did i do something wrong? Or is the motor going to clear that away soon? Okay thanks.
White smoke = bad when car is warm up.
Did you check to see if you are running low on coolant? A good sign your engine is burning it up. As for the idle high and low, check your spark plug tip. Another sign you can tell if headgasket is blown.
Hope this helps and i'm sure others will plug in.
