Tune up for Integra GSR
Im going to do a tune up on my 1998 Integra gsr, it just hit 102k miles, and want to do a tune up on it.
Im asking, what all is needing to be done replaced when doing this? Im not that car saavy, so I dont know what all is needed for this, so Im asking you honda and acura guys or gals to help me out here.
Thanks, James

Yeah if the timing belt and water pump have never been replaced, it's time to do it now. For someone that isn't "car saavy" it might be best to have someone else do it, although it won't be cheap. There are write-ups out there if you want to tackle it yourself, and you'd be well-served getting a Helms manual.

If you are not "car saavy" this is not a good point to start. I would have to say changing a clutch is easier that timing belt.
Working on this area on a GSR is very tight and hard to reach in some places. Plus the crank pulley.
I have done this twice the second time the head was off and made is much easier and I had a very good impact wrench.
Definitely read up and decide.

I think the OP would be best served finding a buddy who has done it before. You get to help out and learn something, have someone experienced to make sure it's done right, and it will be much cheaper. Everybody wins.

OK, all sounds good to me, the thing is, I bought the car bout 3 months ago, and only have put 2k on it since i got it, its at 102k now. Thanks for all the input, all useful.
I would do a oil change, new filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter and check vacuum and coolant lines for cracks, or rips. maybe check brakes too not really a part of a tune up but doesn't hurt
if you dont already have records of what has been done to the car you should bring it to a shop and have them inspect it
