Default 92 accord lx !!!HELP!!!

car starts up fine, put it in reverse theres power, then put it in d4 and press the gas and its like i dont have any power. its real sluggish, d4 light blinks and doesnt stop. my friend told me to jump the blue harness under the passenger side panel and watch the c.e.l. blink. so i put a pin in it and turned the key on. the c.e.l. comes on but doesnt blink, but the d4 light blinks. it blinks code 14 and code 8. would these codes be the same for the c.e.l. codes? if anybody out there can help me it would be super awesome.... thanks

D4 light has nothing to do with CEL. The CEL is for the PGM-FI or Engine Control Unit (ECU) the flashing D4 light is transmission control unit (TCU) specific.

8
- Disconnected shift control solenoid valve B connector
- Short/open in shift control solenoid valve B wire
- Faulty shift control solenoid valve B

14
- Short or open in FAS wire between TCU & ECU
- Faulty ECU

checked the resistence ohms on the solenoids and it was good

also checked the resistence between the tcm harness wire and ground and it was good also

changed the speed sensor and the d4 still blinks

the only thing i can think of is the tcm or ecu. didnt change those yet

have you try resetting the ECU meaning erase the memory? to see if it will stop blinking.

alright just do this go to your nearest junk yard and see if you could find one for your year and pick out the computer and test it out with the new one and see if it was the computer issue cause if it's not the computer then you just return it to the junk yard and there give you a credit for it or give you cash back it all depends on the yard that you pick out of. oh did you check and see if the wire is loose at the light ?

ok update.

changed the ecu and the tcm, the d4 light stopped blinking but now it jus stays on no matter if its in p,r,n,d3,d2,d1. the speedo still doesnt work and i changed the speed sensor. it still feels like its stuck in 2nd or 3rd. after driving around for about 5-10 min. the idle goes up and down for a little while foot is off the gas and then goes back to idle. im running out of options.

any info would be great.

thanks

jus figure i check the resistence on the solenoids and it was at 30-34 ohms. but when i checked it before i replaced the ecu/tcm it was at 15-16. ???. maybe i should change the solenoids and see if that fixes the problem.

the ecu/tcm came out of a car that was working good.

something similar with me is happening. When I first got the car the D4 light ALWAYS stood lit no matter what gear i was in. Then it stopped out of no where. Now it does it whenever it wants to.

Yesterday the car felt sluggish about 3 times. During the morning it drove fine (no D4 light blinking or lit) then itll come on when it wants to. Pretty weird. I'll see if i can check for codes this weekend.

BTW: When the d4 light was always on the car at the beginning drove fine, then after a month drove like crap. After i changed my cluster (due to the gas and temp being broken) the light went away. But now its back to doing that ****.

There is no code 0 for the d4. Usually if a code light stays on solid when the connector is shorted it is indicating that there are no codes stored. Is your CEL also on solid as well? If so that means there are no d4 or PGM_FI codes currently stored in the ECU.
