Default Violent stuttering/sputtering/hesitation w/ ZC..PLZ HELP

It seems like this has been getting progressively (sp?) worse, and it's starting to bother me now.

At idle, I will get a sputter every couple of seconds, like the car is missing every now and then. At lower gears (1,2, and sometimes 3) when cruising at light throttle and hit the gas a little more, the car will sputter violently. If I hit WOT it will take off, but doesn't seem to have nearly as much power as it should.

In the upper gears (4,5) when cruising, it does the same thing as when at idle. It will "miss" every few seconds. Not really enough to feel, but can be heard in the exhaust.

I tried octane booster b/c I though it might be some bad gas, but it doesn't seem to help. I run 93 in it. I tried to change the fuel filter, but some f*king moron tightened the banjo bolt down beyond possible human loosening, so that failed. The cap/wires/rotor were recently changed (not by me though, so I"m not sure).

Can anyone help? Along w/ a leaking radiator and messed up motor mounts...this is really starting to get aggrivating.

is it throwing any codes?
sounds like either EACV (14) or Ignition ouput signal (ignitor)(15).
but the symptoms sound more like a bad ignitor.

I didn't see any codes. On the ZC ECU, is the light on the thin side of the ECU? Like on the PR3 when you pull back the carpet it's smacking you right in the face right in the middle of the ECU, but there's nothing here on the ZC. I'll unbolt it and turn it and see.

Any more info on the ignitor? And I'll check for codes tomorrow.

I went back out and checked it, but no codes.

It almost seems like what happened w/ my B16 when I replaced the cap/rotor. I replaced it w/ like a 90 Integra cap/rotor...and it seemed just a 'little' off and would miss every now and then. Put my JDM cap/rotor back on and went back to normal...

Sounds like I had the same thing going on. It ended up being the ignitor 80$ part and my car runs great now. I guess it was going bad for a while because after I replaced it I would say its the best thing I ever did to my motor.

10-4. On the ZC, which would I use? 89 Integra, 89 CRX Si?

I don't have my Chilton in front of me... Where is the ignitor and how hard to replace?

It is very easy. Take the distributer (sorry for the spelling) off pull the cap off it is a small thin box in the rotor 4 I thing screws 2 allens and 2 phillips heads unplug the 3 plugs not so sure about the 3 plugs mite be 4 but you get the point and it should slide right out.

Hrmm, whelp...I have one for an 89 Teg I think..and it wont fit. It looks identical in EVERY way..but wont slide on for some reason. I think I MIGHT have found the problem..this is the dizzy cap I'm pulling off:

Oh, whelp... The other cap did go on, but only 2/3 of the screw holes would line up. The 3rd one (on the bottom) was like 1/16" off. I put it on, and it works okay..but nothing different..

Taking ignitor off as I type...
