im ridiculously frustrated and cursing alot right now.
i have everything disconnected and the gearbox is 2 or more inches separated from the block. it is now hitting the subframe in the back.
i still have the motor hanging from the rear and drivers side mounts, and supported with one jack and another jack under the trans for if it ever comes out.
questions
1 - am i supposed to just let the engine drop as far as it wants too and do it that way?
2 - i have the half shaft on...does that need to come off? ive seen mixed things?
any other general tips would be greatly appreciated...i fell like i should have just pulled the whole motor now, because with how much of a struggle removal is, re-install will take me days...

well i feel like a total douchebag now.
spent two hours last night disconnecting and trying to get it out...10 minutes to take out the half shaft this morning and it was out

now to go tear it open...

I see you updated this, but was about to say, "pull the halfshaft." lol
You'll probably pull the axle(s) out anyhow to make putting the axle/halfshaft back in much easier.
