Brian Crower broke off a while back to concentrate on Sport Compact applications...they are not the same company.

Really?

http://crower.com/cat/import/honda/cams/b_vtec.shtml

I believe Crower still makes their own cores where as BC buys them from the same place as some other manufacturers do.

Is Brian Crower Bruce Crower's son or some other relative?

i wouldnt call one more reliable than the other.

I have used both with good results.

actually the only BC cam i have had issues with was the LS turbo cams. their springs bound up really bad, ended up trashing the setup and putting a vtec head on it.

You sure it was because of the cam itself? My buddy just had me order a set of those for his LS turbo on 14psi.....

not sure if it was the cam or the spring, but it had BC everything, valves, springs, retainers, cams.

We didnt mess with it enough to find the exact cause. when we were rotating it over by hand after the install it bound up so hard that it cracked a cam cap.

we took it all apart, sent it back and put vtec on it.

interestingly enough, with the ls head it made 295hp at 11lbs, with vtec it made 360 at 11lbs! stock b16 head, with omni springs/retainers. stock valves, stock b16 cams, stock b16 intake manifold.

i had bc ls turbo cams and crower valvetrain and didn't have any problems. so maybe it was the springs?
