Stripped spark plug hole
Hi all... got a 94 accord lx, 2.2 (f22b2), 170k mi
I just got done doing a timing belt etc because the belt jumped and my timing was at 42*
I got everything back together and was doing a compression test to compare against pre-tear down. Anyhow I find out cyl # 4 has stripped threads
This is only the second time I've had the plugs out of my car as I've only owned it for 35k. I did not over-tighten, that cylinder has felt iffy and it was a pray and tighten scenario with it.
Has anyone successfully helicoiled a spark plug hole with the head still on? I know I've heard a different term used instead of helicoil for aluminum heads, but the name escapes me right now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Aaron
