Hi all... got a 94 accord lx, 2.2 (f22b2), 170k mi

I just got done doing a timing belt etc because the belt jumped and my timing was at 42*

I got everything back together and was doing a compression test to compare against pre-tear down. Anyhow I find out cyl # 4 has stripped threads This is only the second time I've had the plugs out of my car as I've only owned it for 35k. I did not over-tighten, that cylinder has felt iffy and it was a pray and tighten scenario with it.

Has anyone successfully helicoiled a spark plug hole with the head still on? I know I've heard a different term used instead of helicoil for aluminum heads, but the name escapes me right now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

it can be done and has been done. we do it all the time at my shop to f-150s. i havent had the pleasure of doin one yet tho.
