Default Looking for a DC5...

So I'm in the market for a DC5. I definately want the '05-06 body style but the '02-04 are cheaper. Most likely I will go for the newer style but I just have a few questions.

What common problems do they have? 3rd gear prob...ETC.
Which one is better to modify engine and suspension wise? (I'll get KPRO for tuning.)
How much is yalls insurance like(liability and full coverage)?

Thanks.

- rattles in the dash
- IAC valve gets dirty and what causes the engine to rev. There is no replacement through Honda. You would have to buy the entire throttle body, but most people on the boards just take the TB apart and clean it.

- KPRO is a bitch for 05+. You will need the attachment Hondata sells, and a 02-04 ecu
- 02-04 exterior pieces
- 05+ K20Z1 has 4.6 Final gear, and slightly more aggressive cams. Makes for the extra couple hp. The final gear is what seperates teh 2 cars though..
- because of the gay mcpherson design, it's hard to slam, if that's what you are looking for. It's been done before (for example search my name up on clubrsx.com), but the car handles like doo doo.
- 02-06 RSX base and Type S have interchangable suspensions. (05+ Type S have opposite coil springs in the front.)

- My insurance on my 2005 Acura RSX Type S was twice as much as my 2005 Honda S2000 that i replaced it with. A little over $5000 for the year full coverage. lol

I raced an LS turbo with a slightly modded type-S and beat him every time. Even at the track once too. N/A my best time with a 05 type-S was 14.1 which is a decent time.

I'd take the K series over a non vtec B series any day.

Same here. I raced 06 Si (K20z3) against a few modded civics/integras and was very impressed with the car just stock. I was beaten by one, but only when he hit 3rd gear and the difference wasn't much.

The ECU's are smarter in the newer cars and will adapt after 15 minutes of driving after installation. However, I would still recommend Hondata.
