hydrolocked s2k
Im assuming the car had a CAI on it? Other wise he would've had to driven it into a lake to screw it up that bad. Give more info if you can because the last time I had a friend that hydrolocked, he had to get a new motor.
You should have made sure no water was left in it...rig up a vacumm, tape a smaller hose to it and put it down inside the spark plug holes. I would also do a compression check to make sure nothing is seriously fudged. As far as getting no spark i have no idea!

Was the roommate even aware that he couldn't drive it through a puddle? The majority of people do not modify cars, therefore they do not have knowledge of these kinds of things.
I honestly don't think he should be at fault if he / she was unaware of the circumstances. IMO it should be the responsibility of the owner to explain what happens if you drive it through water. Given the fact that most cars can take a mere puddle.

I kinda figured theyd total it if he took it in some where. The only reason my afore mentioned friend got a new motor and not have his car totaled is because he was able to write it up as flood damage. Lol and his insurance company worked it that way
