I may be parting out my RSX soon depending on a deal im striking with another member on the board for his eg with swap, so most likely I will be selling the car.

Ill have the JDM Headlights, JDM Shift **** and Shift Boot/Console, and I have the OEM Valve Cover if anyones lookin for one (too lazy to take the JDM one off).

why ya selling....what happend to the Type-S ?

short hand- a mis-shift blew the motor and Acura covered it- im not risking it again and Im just gonna get rid of the car to get an eg with a swap.

 

damn..soory dude...is it really that easy to misshift ?

 

i heard sometihng about the 2nd gear syncrhos causing it...

 

ive never mis-shifted ever before...I still dont know what happened, just pushed the clutch shifted to 4th next thing I know whhhhhhoOOOHHHHHMMMMMMMM, dead.

Ill just go back to the ol 5 speed gearbox and get on with my life.

damn, that's a serious mis-shift and 4th is pretty easy to put into and an engine blowing up like that damn.

 

yea. Acura covered it but whos to say im drivin down the road to get on the highway and it happens again. Im goin back to the good ol trusty Civic, I guess thats what I get for poking my nose in the Integra line.

heh the valve cover and spark plug cover will have to be a good offer to get me to take that off lol!

shiftboot/console was bought for $70..make a reasonable offer from that.

I would do the trade then if thats what you want. You can probably get the dealer to go down to 23 especially when the 03's come out. Good Luck.

 

The synchros cause grinds, not mis shifts. Acura has a service bulletin out.

 

I would keep the S,if it happens again go to Acura and bitch,my friend blew 3 motors and 2 trans in his 99 GSR and got them replaced everytime.
The S is a bad *** ride you may regret it 1 day.And there are no known issues with the GSR motor or tranny,you have to be an idiot to them.

Why not get a Type-R? It's about the same price (used) as you'll get for trading in your S, and it's only got 5 gears No more misshifts

 

Well if all goes well im going to pick up my EG tonight.

I still havent gotten my RSX back from the dealer. Whenever I get it back im takin some of the parts off, then its going bye-bye.

 

yup its not the integra line that failed you... its actually the quality of the "new Honda" that failed you. why do you think i moved on so easily??? sure i wanted another honda, sure the WRX is badass... but Honda has treated me well, so I wanted to stick with it. HOWEVER, all the bad stuff I hear was enough to keep me away from another Honda. Get an older Honda... wait a few years for them to fix all the problems on the new models, then get one...

 

QUICK question... Is the shiftboot part of the center console? i.e. It can't be removed seperately?

Whats that supposed to mean? A rsx is NOTHING like an integra, a whole seprate thing so please don't mix the 2 in the same catagory.

I also heard of someone who blew their **** twice with over-revving on this car... doesn't sound good to me.

 

Obviously your mis-informed. The only reason its not called Integra over here is because Acura has a fetish with all-letter names. If im not mistaken the title for this forum used to be "It is still just an Integra. Here you go whiney RSX proponents"
