most people just do a race header, which deletes the cat. or they run a shorty header and a high flow cat. i really havent seen any testpipes on the si, just r18s.

Sorry to T/J Iv seen those before im not to sure about that header tho doesnt look too good IMO. The test pipe are 40-50bucks would it give you more power just with the test pipe or should i just wait till i can afford a decent header?thanks

I'm currently using a Type 1 Racing test pipe on my 08 Si and have had no problems with it. Don't buy the ebay test pipe, it's complete junk. I had it before I bought the the T1R pipe and it was awful. A lot of people have had trouble with the ebay ones cracking and the welds breaking.

The problem with the ebay pipe is the welding. Yes it is stainless steel, but the hangers and flanges are not stainless steel. It is impossible to weld stainless steel to regular steel and have it last. That is why the ebay pipes fail so often. After 2 weeks of having the ebay test pipe on my car the hanger broke off and left a hole on the test pipe.

not to bash anyone, but what kinda setups are you guys using that you are squeezing that much extra power out by not using a cat? im not tree hugger by any means, but I still kinda have the opinion that if you can feel the power gained by not having a cat, you probably didnt have that much power to start with. I feel like theres a lot more responsible ways of gaining power. sorry, just my little rant

ive never seen those kind of gains without a reflash...

but race headers without cats compared to one with a hfc are atleast 5hp more. but a hfc is still a big improvement over the stock one.
