Default Slight "clunking" noise from front passenger side of car!

It only happens when I'm traveling slow (5-10mph) and brake hard. It "clunks" the instant after I press the brake and the instant that the car comes to a complete stop i can hear a second faint clunk sound.

It doesn't make the noise when I'm driving, accelerating, or going over bumps, or when I brake normally. So now I'm at a loss and don't have a clue what it could be.

Now of course I'm no fool and I wouldn't be posting this thread if I hadn't checked the most obvious part first....my Skunk2 suspension.

I did....everything checked out fine. All the bolts were on tight. The Spring preload was snug, the sway bar was tight as far as I could tell.

All I have left to guess at is possibly something with the brakes, or a bad motor mount.

Any thoughts?

And yes I have an '06 Si 45K miles. Brake pads still have a good amount of pad left.

I had a problem with my front subframe being out of alignment, and had very similiar symptoms. Took it to the dealer and they loosened it all up, aligned it, and re-torqued everything and haven't had a problem since. A good test to see if this is the problem is while you are standing still with the motor on, turn the wheel from right to left very quickly with abrupt changes in direction. If you hear knocking sounds, that's your issue.

Doubt it. I took it to the dealer and (as expected) they pinned the noise on the Skunk2 coilovers.....although they couldn't explain in detail what was causing the noise....they just said it was the front struts.

Technically they COULD be right.....but they could also have the mentality that they don't want to dick around with modified cars.

My car made the noise before I installed my Skunk2 springs and it still makes the noise.
