98 honda accord auto transmission problems
i have a 98 honda accord lx auto
lately i;m having trouble getting the
car to shift gears. on automatics when
you start the car you step on the brakes
then shift from park to whatever but it
takes 5 to 10 tries before it shifts, but
when it shifts the car drives just fine.
i'm not sure what is causing the problems
but if some could help me out with an idea
about what is wrong it would be great.

The 98-02 series (primarily the 98-00) were plagued with transmission problems. If you're the registered owner of your Accord, you might wanna take it to your local Honda Service dept. so that they can take a look and fix/replace it.
I do believe there was some sort of recall at some point.

recall was for 2nd physical gear overheat. 00-01 accords were covered under an extended 7 yr 100K mile warranty. ALL of these cars are past the warranty period now.
98,99 and 02 cars had no warranty although Honda did fix a lot of them under goodwiill at no cost or significantly reduced cost.
