Distributor issue what is the best
So honda discontinue to make the B16-B18 OBD1 distributor. what is the best available one out there, that does not create timing errors on ECU.

jdm importers? i just sold a spare jdm b18c dizzy for $75, i'm sure one of the places has a spare floating around. what did you fry anyway? usually it's just the coil that goes

factory or distributer king dizzy with new honda ignitor and external msd ss coil has always work for me. Also what kinda timing error is it? TDC, CYP or CKP i would check the resistance on the dizzy to see if that is the problem first. If not then will be in wiring or ecu problem. Or switch to coil on plug since you are running a EMS. My 2 cent
if those obd1 distributors are hard to find, you can always convert to OBD2 distributor. they are everywhere and more cars came with bseries vtec motors.
That kinda sucks. If the OBDI is discontinued, that doesn't bode well for my ODB0 stuff.
You could try King Motorsports at http://www.kingmotorsports.com/. I believe they offer some aftermarket OBD0, OBDI, and OBDII distributors.

If you're using and AEM ECU, then get the Hall Effect trigger kit from Tony Palo and a 4-channel ignition controller (Twin-Fire if you don't mind keeping a spare on hand, or M&W if you do). The Twin-Fire boxes catch fire from time to time, but they are cheap enough to keep a spare on hand and AEM keeps replacing mine for free. Since I switched to COP my ignition has been flawless. My brother has tried a bunch of distributors, factory Honda/Acura, MSD, Distributor King, etc, and they keep giving him problems at the track. If you look at the signal on an oscilliscope, then you can see how jumpy the signal from the distributor is, while the Hall Effect setup is a perfect square wave. It makes for a smoother idle and no misfires under stress.
It's not the cheapest way to go, but your engine will run smoother, no misfires ever, and rock-solid ignition performance.

+1 for converting a obd2 to obd1.. or just convert your engine harness dizzy plug to obd2 that way u have one plug to fuss with!
Benny,
We were having an unstable tach problem with the aim data system. We solved it by adding their little circuit board that cleaned up the signal and spit out a nice square wave. Maybe that sort of setup will work for you. good luck...

It looks like they only work when you click on them from Tyson's recent Mychron info thread?
I looked at the links from there this morning, and will try again now.....
yes, they work when accessed from

joe, you have to copy and paste the whole link, the real link. not the truncated link that the forum creates.
