I'm trying to find out what this part is, but more specifically whether there is something that should be on top of it. There used to be a small mesh filter like thing that went over top it, but was accidently ruined.

Anyone know what is supposed to go over the part circled in red? The small black piece that is sticking up without top.

Hey man, I know when you put a cold air or short ram intake that you put the mesh filter in that line because there is a vacuum line that goes from that line to the intake air duct work. Under the hood of the car there should be a vacuum routing diagram somewhere, I know they had them on the accord's and on there it shows that line. Good luck man.

 

Yep. I've got a CAI (AEM). Put it on a long time ago, so maybe it came with it.

or buy one of those universal 1" cone filters. I have seen that done before. Either or, glad you got it solved. Good luck with everything!
