Default AFC/vs. Hondata Basemap

Okay guys, i have a built d15b with a ported y8 head and 12.1 compression blah blah anyways i have really bad detonation around town and im burning super rich cuz i just bought a ecu thats chipped for a b20 vtec. So im going to get it tuned soon and i called 2 shops closest to me and one said they will tune it on the dyno with my vafc and mess with the tuning for 150 bucks and the other shop said they will find the closest hondata basemap for my car and put it in for 195 and then its 150 each our to tune it on the dyno after that....which one do you think would be the best for me? im a little confused on this and havent ever gotten my car tuned

Do neither. Get Neptune Demon, Hondata, or ECtune and have it tuned to your setup.

Hondata install for $195 isn't that bad of a deal. $150/hour on the dyno is pretty standard.

Depending on the B20 chipped ecu you bought, it could potentially be used for Crome.

Forget the VAFC tune.
