whats up honda-tech... not sure if this is in the right section. i just bought a brand new set of recaro speeds. black with red stiching. now the problem is i dont know what rails and sliders i need... the only problem i have with sparco or memoryfab is because i dont want to sit on the floor due to being ultra low... is there any other way i can fab something up with either my stock rails? or something stockish?? my buddy has a tig welder and is pretty sick with it... is there anyway we can fab something up?? any ideas?? anybody have these seats and what rails you guys used??

If your buddy is "pretty sick" with a tig there should be no reason you are asking these questions. Its not as complicated as you are making it out to be. Just make sure the seat is securely attached to chassis. Its the only thing keeping your *** inside the car in the event of an accident

 

lol thanks ****.... quick question about you using stock rails...was the seat kinda high or you sat at a nice level???

 

Im at the perfect height for me, But I also considered that when I was fabbing everything up. Im 6'2" 190lb. The recarros mounting holes are on the bottom of the seat so it made everything a little more complicated, some are on the sides including the stock seats. This was in an EG btw

 

oh mine is in a ek.... think it would matter? easier.. harder?

 

I think the eg and ek rails are the same, not 100% sure though. where are the holes on your recarros? Mine were stock out of an older volkswagon.

 

wrong. EG and DC rails are the same. EK rails are different. If you try to fit EG/DC rails in an EK you can only use three bolts. Vice-versa EK rails in to EG/DC.

Depending on the seat mount, you can use your stock rails and use them on your Recaro. You'll be at about stock-seat height.

I'm using EG/DC rails on my SRD seats in my EK. 3 bolts. MemoryFAB rails on order.
