Never made a build thread, never had to I guess ... well anyway, I just picked up my 94 LS the other day and had a GSR engine laying around so I figured it was 'meant to be' haha ...
I just want to build myself a reliable daily driver, that's it, nothing crazy. Will be swapping the engine, getting the side moldings taken off, getting it re-painted and maybe throwing a Type-R front (not sure) ... future plans also would include re-doing the suspension since it's pretty old but that's down the road.
Anyway, here goes! ... We took the block apart and found that the #1 cylinder had some rust on the cylinder wall from sitting for a while so I took it to a machine shop and they told me I should overbore it 0.20 over so I did that and got the pistons to match.
Got it back from the machine shop and here's how it sits for now ...

First thing I did after getting it back was painting the block

Ordered the ACL bearings, those should be in sometime this week and HOPEFULLY we can start the re-assemble

In for this
Just a tip, you may want to go with OEM bearings. Although ACL bearings are great, you will get a substantially longer life from OEM and not have to replace them nearly as soon.

started assembly on the block .. well actually FINISHED assembly on the block (will post pics soon). Put the head on and noticed I was shipped main bolts not head bolts so I sent those back (FedEx overnight) and should be getting the head studs hopefully by Friday.
Again, will post pics soon!

Block looks in good shape....
Did you go with the ACL after all or the OEM bearings? What CR on your pistons did you go with? A list of parts would be cool to see. I only mention because I'm doing a rebuild on my B18C1 and I too am going 81.5mm. Also, are you sticking with the stock head?

I'm doing a b18c1 build as well. My head is at the machine ready but I gotta drop my bottom half off along with my pistons. Question, are you sticking with all gsr parts on the head? Upgrading t/b, i/m, header, tune? I ask because I'm on a budget build but I would like to gain all the power I can so do I need those parts listed above?

I had to overbore it .20 over due to some rust on the cylinder walls from the engine sitting so long, otherwise I would have left it stock bore. It will have oem t/b, i/m but probably some aftermarket headers and full type-r exhaust
I'll get a parts list for you next week when I'm back home.
