TECH: 5th gen Accord True SHort Shift Lever
Hey people, most of you know me around here some of you dont. from time to time I like to post of How-to's of things that just most rice boys dont think of which is actually beneficial things, and thats the sort of tech that honda-tech needs and thats what makes this forum so different.
I have posted things up such as my "Legend 2 piston caliper conversion", I have posted up "LX rear drum to EX rear disc conversion" I have done my own prelude powerplant conversion and have aided many people on getting it working right.
thats why today i wanna see the interest people will have in my next conversion which is the only true short shifter made for the 4th(?) and 5th gen accord, and you guys know how rare that is.. (sorry civic/integ guys)
so to the point ..the purpose of this post is that i will be the test dummy for the PSPEC tuning short throw shift lever, which Mr. PSPEC himself is very confident about and im sure it will be a great advantage to us 2.2 guys so thats why i didnt hesitate to jump on this one..
so you guys can see what it looks like:

also note that its about ready for mass production which will be sold to a huge import company which will of course jack up the price, so my point is im going to do a review after installation later this week so i can give my thoughts on the shifter and how beneficial it really is, so I can set up a GROUPBUY before it goes into mass production. getting 20-30 sets for us guys would be no problem but just need to know how many of you guys would be intesrest???
I myself right now am running a stock lever cut down like 3" using a B&M ss adapter and if any of you know its notchy as hell, i **** up 2nd gear most times and knowing my tranny might take bigger abuse some day is what really makes me appreciate this type of mod. i favor beneficial mods not so much looks.

i love it!!! good job man!! keep us updated! ya see rice boyz this is the kinda **** we like in here...not stuff like how come my led nozzles arent as bright as they used to be!
if the throw is actually SHORTer, then i'll take one also, prelude one is just a mere straighter, and shorter, all in all can be done by re-threading.

I would be interested, i have been thinking about just cutting down the threads, but i would rather just buy a full replacement with shortier throw also. I searched for the link about LX rear drum to EX rear disc conversion but i couldnt find the post, anyone help me out. Keep us posted on the group buy.
I've already e-mailed "Mr. PSPEC" and gotten some info on the shifter so I'll be interested to see how it will work.
You already stated that the B&M short shift adapter is notchy but has anyone tried the short shifter from Pacesetter (with the adjustable ball) or the short shifter from Neuspeed or Tsudo. I've seen them on Nopi but I've never heard if they were good or not. Some info would be great.

I already spoke to you so I want the second pre-release to test out on my faster civic.. Because with you granny shifting in your Accord who knows if it really works properly..
And before when I had my 4th gen I had a nuespeed adapter and altough it worked really well in shortening the throws it always felt a little bulky at times. And the stick height remained the same. If this product indeed shortens the throws and the height as well then it will sell indeed..
We will keep you guys updated..

faster civic ..bwaahahaha..
actually you know what the height really remains untouched, because after testing and testing at that height is how it maintains is smoothness, anything less and it starts getting notchy.. so like i said all for performance rather than looks. we will see i will have it in my hands by tomorrow or next day.

Engine and drivetrain arent coupled while shifting. The longer it takes to shift the longer youre not putting power down. The longer the shifter the longer the throw.
So......shorter=faster
