Default Bandsaw advice

I'm looking to buy a bandsaw to make manifolds and exhausts. I'm wondering what is the cheapest option that will do the job right (cut SS tubing) . Here's 3 model from King that i was looking at. There priced 350$,650$ and 950$ .

I'm basically buying this saw to make my first manifold and as a hobby mainly.

Thanks!

you can get a lot done with the 350 one, make a lubricating mechanism for it and your set

I don't like the quality of the cut on a chop saw and its noisy. I'm a car mechanic and will use it a bit more than just as a hobby. All i wanted to say is that it won't be use in a commercial/industrial kind of way. its for the occasional job. I just want more precise cuts with less noise.

The $350 option you posted is a standard Chinese 4x6 that you can get from many different places, each with different prices, different features, and almost always being the same basic head (and typically with a crap motor). There's a Yahoo group dedicated to owners of those bandsaws, with discussions and pictures of various modifications you can make to them to get more out of them. There's an older FAQ on them with a lot more information, and a Google search for "4x6 bandsaw" will turn up a ton of links.

They're definitely an entry-level bandsaw, but you can get by with one, and are quite livable with a few tweaks.

i would say get the largest one. we have two at work and with a little time they cut nice and square. they sell this same saw at harbor freight alot cheaper. we have that one and the other one is a grizzly.
