Does anyone else notice this? Re: Vtec Zone.
Okay I used to notice this all the time in my first Type R, that whenever I get into VTEC at WOT it seemd (I thought it may have been subconscious) that the guage lights are brighter and more orange. (I have CDN ITR).
I am starting to notice the same thing on my second ITR and I'm wondering if it's just me or my imagination or if anyone else notices this.
It definitely adds about 50 horsepower though

I think it is you. You are getting an adrenaline rush while in VTEC at WOT. Thus more blood to your brain allowing you to see more vividly.

That's a possibility actually but my turbo Integra was much faster and I never experienced that. (I've had 4 DC2's so far). Maybe it's just something with CDN cluster or maybe it really is just me...
LOL yes I know but at least it's on topic.

i bet its brightening up before vtec and you aren't noticing it.
At least on the USDM's, at 3,500 rpm the alternator output is higher. If you drive just below 3,500 rpm and then increase rpm, it will consistently brighten your headlights if they are on. I believe it has something to do with the alternator control in the ecu, and most likely the efficiency of the alternator is greatest above 3,500 rpm.

Your ears detect the noise increase at VTEC and your eyes widen to see where the noise is coming from so everything looks brighter....Its an unproven scientific fact that i just made up and will add to wikipedia.
I think you are right...Only the "CDN cluster" do this because of the effect of "Northern Light".
