exhaust sizing for 200whp?
Sup guys, i'm building my GSR with 11:1 CR CP piston, stage 2 Brian crower cams, camgears, dual valve springs, retainers, skunk2 intake manifold, CAI and a Tune with eCtune. My question is would i should look forward a 2.5'' header collector and a 2.5 '' exhaust system or should i stick with my 4-1 DC headers and a WS2 exhaust?? I would like to get close to 200-210 WHP. i've read that 200WHP cars are better with a 2.5'' collector and exhaust, but will i be able to push 200 WHP with my setup?? i wish, thats my plan. Thanks guys.

I am currenty running a DC 4-1 into my Comptech Exhaust. This set-up has been on my GSR for 9 years. I am now changing to a SMSP header and 2-1/2" exhaust to get me closer to 200whp.
Not sure if this will help you, but it is some input.

2.5" is the standard. which header you choose will also have a very large impact on power. cat-less headers like the skunk2 use race oriented primaries that extend far further than the cat-able style. the jdm 4-1 or a modded edelbrock are popular cat friendly headers. still, they won't compete with hytech, rage or skunks
i'm looking to go with the hytech twin loop exhaust and the hytech rage style header, its a replica of the the rage so it is more affordable, around 400$ compare to 900$

DC Sports 4-1 2-1/4" Header
SMSP High Flow Cat
Comptech Cat-Back Exhaust
Intake
RC Engineering Ported GSR Throttle Body 70mm>64mm
RC Engineering injectors w/clips 370cc
DPR Ported GSR Intake Manifold
AEM GSR Cold Air Intake
Block
USDM ITR Pistons (81.25)
USDM ITR Rods
Head
DPR Stage 5 Port ‘n’ Polish
Rocker Arm Balance and Lightening
ITR Valves, ITR Springs, ITR Retainers, ITR LMA’s

im a b20/GSR build and i hit 201whp with a DC 2" header --> Carsound hi-flo cat --> 60mm Skunk2 Exhaust.
i do however have a JDM ITR Header --> Hi-flo cat--> 2.5" piping w/ Apexi WS2 muff but i have yet to get the car re-tuned..

ok, thanks guys, i think with hytech rage replica header and hytech twin loop exhaust (both 2.5'') i should be close to my 200 whp. Thanks guys
let me know ur dyno number cuz im running about the same setup and too and im having quite a hard time getting to 200whp. but for my exhasut i ended up getting the skunk2 megapower R (70mm) piping or 2.75 i mean its loud but when u get used to it its not too bad.
Head
skunk2 stage 2 pro series cams
skunk2 cam gears
skunk2 valvetrain
UNported head
Block
11:1 cp pistons wit eagle rods
blocks guard
Hytech rep headers with test pipe all the way to my 2.75 skunk2 exhaust.
i got it rebuilt too so everything is fresh. this is off the top of my head i think im missing sum stuff

Well to give you perspective, my setup is similar to yours:
B18c1 engine (81.5 bore), S2S1 cams (tuner), cam gears, ITR pistons, S2 IM, AEM CAI, stock header, stock cat, greddy exhaust (60mm). Since I live in CA, I had it tuned conservatively ( Hondata S100) to retain smoggability and made 193WHP/133TQ. Just as long you have a competant tuner, you should be able to make your 200WHP goal without spending an arm and a leg on exhaust products. Good luck!

i know it is expensive but damn it's nice and sounds great. I know i guy who do custom made exhaust 2.5'' mandrel bent with magnaflow satin performance muffler for 400$ but i know it will start leaking after one summer so i dont mind paying the price now, do it right do it once. i'll keep you guys up with the numbers, should be in a month or so. and Jimmyhf51 are your headers the big tube headers or the regualr headers with 2.5'' collector? thanks guys
