oil drip on 93 accord
We have a 93 accord with over 300k miles, and we'd like to keep it running without throwing too much money at it. It has a pretty minor oil drip, I think from the pan gasket. I normally hate hack fixes, but this car is really old. Is there a decent product out there that could work to stop the leak (without wrecking other things)? Is there a heavy oil weight I could safely use to potentially reduce the leak? I'm pretty sure it's running 10w30 right now, which was too thin for my other car and exacerbated a RMS leak - so the weight has me wondering.
Replace the oil pressure sensor, located directly above the oil filter, this is a notorious leaker. Less than $10 at Autozone. Additives are unlikely to fix anything.
I generally agree with your statement - however, we're relocating to a rental house and I don't think the owners want an oil-stained driveway. The accord has left quite the mark (over a couple years' time) on the parking lot at the current townhouse.
