Default My vtec solenoid does not have filter screen

I had code 21. Did search and people said I should first check my oil level & then my vtec solenoid to see if the filter is dirty.

I took off the vtec solenoid and it had the rubber O-ring but no "wire screen filter".... is this bad or good?

I honestly don't thinks it's a bad idea but is only in placed ad added protection just in case I had some junk or debire in the oil.

Any thoughts?
