Default Newbie Type Question

Forgive me, I'm sure these questions get answered once a week. But I was wondering if you could get the 6spd from the type s, or later model si, into an ep3 hatchback? I know it's a k series and it will bolt up, but I'm not exactly sure about the linkages in the new cars.

I'm a Toyota technician (sssh) and I just finished college, and I want a new car. Toyota doesn't offer anything I want in a car, and I have had a 98 civic sedan for the past 4 years, 227k miles. I love it and I just put a new engine in it so I know I can keep it around forever. So I'm looking at an ep3, because I don't see a lot of them around here. I would eventually like to build the k20 with some type R parts, but I'd really like a 6spd. Thanks for reading my rambling.
