Default 93 Accord takes a little too long to shift into third

It is for a friend's car. His accord takes a little longer than normal to shift into third, and SOMETIMES it actually takes off in second instead of first gear. He was told by someone that it had something to do with some solenoids? What is the name if I were to look up the part at majestic honda?

Thanks in advanced!

bump? Any suggestions? I've heard this is a very common problem with these accord's auto trannys.

Whats the TCU? English is not my first language so I have a language barrier when translating parts. . . for example, my friend told me about some solenoids or sensors or something that tells the auto tranny when to shift? And that he suspects that such part is the culprit, but I couldn't find anything like that on majestic honda, and I don't even know what it looks like!
