3 winters in a cold garage?(Race Rubber?)
I have a set of almost new RA1s that spent 3 winters in a cold garage. Is there anything I can do to make sure I get the most out of these on the track? Is there some sort of chemical that can be used on them? Similar to VHT?
How cold? If the garage was above freezing, there are no concerns at all. If it was below freezing, there is a concern with cracking, as noted on the Toyo website. So examine them for cracks. If you don't see any, I would just go ahead and use them as is and see how it goes.
Of course, you can always just buy new tires if you're competing and worried about every tenth of a second in lap times (in which case you're probably using some other tire anyway). Personally, I hate the idea of getting rid of what may be perfectly adequate tires! (If you decide to get rid of them and they're not cracked and they're 205/50-15, PM me as I might be interested in buying them off you!)
