First Time Welder
i am looking to get a welder to do very light fab work and maybe some exhaust work i was wondering if this is a decent choice
For use with or without gas
Welds mild steel as thick as 18 gauge. Input: 230 volts, 60 Hz, single phase
Comes with welding torch, tip, grounding cord with clamp, brush/hammer, hand held welding mask and manual
Welding current range: 30-120 amps; Duty cycle: 15% @ 115 amps; Draws 15 amps @ 230 volts
Maximum open circuit voltage: 36 volts
Weldable wires: 0.023", 0.030", and 0.035 steel or stainless steel; 0.030" and 0.035" aluminum; 0.030" flux core
Any advice will help

so many ppl ask this same question! I will worn you straight off the bat. DO NOT but anything thats not gas operated / chincy e-bay/harbor freight welders or any other off name welders that are complete JUNK..you willnot get any penitration and your so called welds will look like ****!!!... if it costs less than 500.00 its probably not worth it.IMO. you wanna go with a LINCOLN,HOBART,MILLER, ETC... i have made the mistake of buying a harbor freight 90amp mig years ago and will never do it again! dont waiste your time and money on cheap stuff do it right the first time ..JUST MY .02
only up to 18 ga? that's kinda crappy, you can find the Lincoln "weld pack" migs at home depot pretty cheap and it is fine for most DIY type jobes. works on 110v too. welds flux core or gas shielded.
