Default Some Gude info...

Hi. Anyone running a gude cam, intake manifold, head, or any other major part, help me out. I've emailed them multiple times, and everytime they reply, they just send me the same parts list garbage.

1) What kind of figures can you get from a gude cam on the F22?

2) Can you run a stock valvetrain with a gude cam?

3) What's different on the gude IM for the F22 over the stock IM?

Any gude info would me much much appreciated... my Accord buddy is lookin' to build his head soon, and gude seems to be the way to go for F22's. Thanks in advance...

I heard that gude claims 40 Hp from its F23 cam. thats just the cam. I say bullshit to that. Even IF it really did make that kind of power, and thats a huge if, the car would be almost undriveable on the street. you'd have to rev the **** outta it all the time.

I'm always skeptical of anyone selling magic ***** enlargement tonics on TV and 40hp honda cams. call me funny like that...

Actually, they claim 40hp for their head package.

and a head package would include what?

porting, cam, valves and springs?

40 hp is a bit more reasonable for all that, but I'd still want to see a dyno

With proper tuning, I can imagine 40 BHP. It also depends on other mods--bolt ons, etc.

i've seen the head package before, and it is a pretty decent setup...anyways, it is a good investement if you go with a turbo...go for it!

So the gude race package adds 40-50 hp. Thats pretty significant. I would'nt neglect your tranny though. It's probably gonna need some work too. Especially after that kind of power increase. For double the cost (depending on mielage) you could buy an h22a. Theres your 40-50hp and then some. Of course thats a whole different ballpark compared to swaping out the head. Keep in mind theres nothing more reliable than OE. Im sure you know this. But to answer your 1st question...not much without some ecu tuning. 2nd don't buy aftermarket cams without building up the entire head, and if gude's cam is reliable, its not adding that much horsepower. It aint that special. 3rd..um, its a race head.

Actually they only claim 35hp max on an Accord F series....and they don't say whether it's to the fly or wheels....but I'd guess to the fly.

But if you figure it this way: You're paying $1500 for 35hp gain and people pay $3500-4000 for an H22 which gives you 60-70 hp gain, so for half the cost of an H22 you're getting half the HP gain.

in that case, save your money and get the H22. much better starting point. unless you're boosting the **** outta the fseries...

One thing though, the F22 will have tons of torque.
