car-88 crx s1
engine-obd0 b18a1
problem-smoking wiring harnes
so i am running the b18 on my 88 si stock harness, everything went on pretty good other than the plugs on the back of the block which need to be extendered a bit. i dropped the engine in and started to fill up the radiator and then the water pump started poring out water before i even tried to start the car. so, i spent the next 1 getting the water pump off to find that the rubber seal was ripped (from overtorqing im guessing), so i got a new seal and put it all back together and redid the mechanical timing and got it all ready to fire up again. i go to crank it and as i crank it i notice some smoke comming from right below the big engine harness plug on the pssenger side of the car. before i changed the water pump i cranked it to see if it would stark (which is didnt), but nothing on the harness was smoking until cranking it AFTER i changed the water pump and set the timing on it. any ideas on what wired are getting too hot and why? i am pretty sure i hooked everything up just like it was on my z6 and i didnt have this problem with the z6? could i have flipped something round on accident? any help is extremely appreciated i would like to have this thing running today.

will an obd0 harness from any integra work? i have an obdo harness from a 1990 db1 but i have no clue what the trim level was is there no way to salvage the harness i have? i found where the smnoking was comming from and got a pic its acctually some wires from the small 6 pin (i think) plug on the drivers side. couldnt get a good picture of it though. how does one "fry a harness"? was it something i did wrong, cause i dont want to hook my integra harness up to it and then ust fry that one you know?
yeah any of them will work, and you can probably salvage the harness you have since you located what plugs that were burning youll have to replace the wires and solder new ones on i believe (not a wiring genius), and im on a school computer cant see any pictures and ive fried a harness before because the one of the plugs was in the wrong place and the same thing happened. To fix it, i went to a junk yard told them what year and engine i have and i got the proper harness and no longer had a problem

well seems liek the plugs on an ls integra are difference from the main plugs on a 88 crx si. im in the process of tracing wires right now. 88 si wiring diagram and pinouts would be good right about now, but i am having trouble finding some.

k, i am trying to figure out what the two blue wires comming from the 6 pin engine harness plug go to. any help is apreciated. also a solid white whire (right now it going now here), and a thick brown wire. the to blue are like blu/yel, and blu/white (think its white), and the thick brown one is brn/blu (i think)

ok, so apparently the two blue wires are CPS wires, and then are for some reason wrapped in grounded wire all the way up to the main harness plug, and then they splice into some more grounded wire that seems to insulate a thin white wire that has been cut and i dunno where it goes... but that grounded wire that raps around the cps wires is what is getting hot... this is really hard to explain for some reason. does ANYONE know what i am talking about?
