Default Pressing out upper ball joints, 91 CRX

Quick question, I have a 91 CRX and I am getting ready to replace the worn OE upper ball joints with a pair of Ingalls ball joints, and correct my camber issue at the same time. Question is, after searching I'm still unclear on what Hondas can have the ball joints pressed out, vs replacing the upper control arm. I went to the SPC website (similar ball joints and install) and it seems to say 90-91 can be pressed out with simple tools.

?????

Thanks in advance
Kirk R

I just did both of mine. I have a 91 Civic std so it may be different. But I had to replace the whole upper control arm because they were all one piece. no worries though.. I go the set on ebay for cheaper than just one balljoint. They were decent quality too.

Best bet is to take the control arm out then press it out. This is what I did with mine. Was pita to get the control arm out though.

You need to check and see if there is a snap ring holding ther balljoint in. If sure then you cna change them if not you need to replace the whole arm. i belive the 88-89 crx had replaceable ball joints only

Two 14mm nuts and a 17mm nut gave you that much trouble?

FYI- It's the 90-91's that are replaceable. 88-89's are welded in at the factory.

On Our 1990 DX hatch the Bj are pressed in, no retaining clip. Balljoint press them out or take the control arm out and press them out on a stand up press.
