'96 Delsol with P0135 code that won't go away
I replaced the front O2 sensor and the code P0135) immediately comes back. This is the S version with the D16Y7 engine. Resistance across the two black heater wires measure about 5 ohms. (seems too low) It's a new Bosch sensor, could it be bad out of the box? Any other tips for diagnosing this problem? I can't find a circuit diagram that matches this vehicle on line. Any ideas on where I might find one?
Thanks for all help you folks can provide...

it could be bad. its worth taking it back and getting a trade. is your motor real modified. if it is it there could be too much flow in xhaust and the o2 dont like it. jhpusa.com makes o2 sensor spacer that help it

Thanks for the reply. The motor is completely stock, so it shouldn't be a flow issue. One thing I thought of to check was the #2 O2 sensor. I'll disconnect it and check the heater resistance and see if it's the same as the #1 sensor. It should be the same since the only difference between the two is the length of the electrical leads.
you can have a bad sensor out of the box.
since you just bought it, you should have a warranty
also make sure all the wires on your harness are plugged in.
its common for a wire to come out on that end....

I'm going to swap the O2 sensor at NAPA tomorrow....As an update, I discovered that the exhaust manifold is cracked. Does anyone know if that could contribute to my P0135 issues?
