Default 5 Speed Conversion

I have a 94 Accord I am doing a auto to 5 speed tranny conversion.
My question is what year clutch pedal assemblies can I use?
Can I use any of the 90-93 Accordspedal sets?
What are my options Thanks

do you guys have part numbers on that shift assembly? I look it up at hondaautomotiveparts.com but the exploded assembly view confuses the hell out of me.

how about cost? and source? for the parts you got. I'm guessing my best bet it to hit a junk in person so I know I get everything.

Where can one buy an entire conversion package? I know they have them on ebay once in a while, but its rare.

When i did my conversion i found a yard that straight up traded me my auto gear (shifter and all) for manual stuff.. it was weird. Anyway, might wanna see if some crackpot in your area will do the same. I imagine a working AT is worth a lot more to the junkmon due to the amount of AT accords.

i've heard of this swap done on a prelude with the the tranny and all for $400...if you can figure out how to do it yourself you will save yourself close to $800....good luck to all of you!

i was thinking about the conversion too, but will it make the car less reliable, because this is still my daily driver?

no, because you will have a brand new tranny, new clutch, new computer, so the car will basically have gotten a bath in the fountain of youth!...if you do a motor swap on top of this you will jus be adding longevity to your car (that is if you are a smart driver and don't plan on boosting the **** out of the motor)

I know exactly why they did that! It is rare you can find a used auto tranny in realiable shape! That place can make 400-700 bucks on that thing and its a good chance they would'nt have to honor any 3-6 month warranty they slap on it...it would be fine for at least 12k miles. Manual trannies on the other hand are more of a sure thing cause they're inherently simplier....and far cheaper....

To ppl considering this swap...You all might want to hit up places with the switch...

I'm curious....How many miles did you auto tranny have on it when you switched?

parts: reliable as hell

labor: thats your problem. Everyone knows Honda's will run forever (provided tey are proper operated and maintained) but if HAM started hiring monkeys to assmble the cars then I think their reputation would change.

labor is half the battle.

Had about 60,000 on it at that time.. car now has 170,000. Tranny was solid and i even let him take it around the block to prove it.

You know I really didnt care that he profited from the deal.. I got everything that I wanted and everyone left happy you know? I wish at that time I was a better welder though because my mount move is kinda ugly (but its solid) ... maybe i'll redo it when I swap in a fresh F22A1.

To anyone considering the swap DO NOT hesitate.. unless you enjoy the AT in traffic (which sometimes I do miss it). Its worth every penny... all in all I got out with about 250 to swap on over. Most of that was an OEM clutch and a new mount.

Sorry I didnt reply earlier, but I can't post much being a trial user.. anyone know how long this lasts or what I have to do, to become a full member that is?

Amen to that! I know its an old deal for you but good job on finding that. Actually, you increased the reliability and resale value of your car (cause auto trannies bring sport'y' cars down) and made the cost of any tranny related repairs far-far cheaper.... definately grassroots...

Grassroots as in "real", "down home", "unorthodox but effective"...kinda like finding a way to use a mitsubishi turbo setup (that cost only $400) to turbo the honda F-motor. Or making your own turbo timer from Radio Shack parts. Or making your own CAI from Home Depot parts. Or fixing your ABS for $1.51 .... Those are all DEFINATELY grassroots. It's not really about being cheap...just clever. Like i sprung for the APEXi set cause it's a really good, quality set that will perform as i want it too (some things you do get what you pay for). And it will retain SOME value.

I got a $350 quote yesterday for the work for a conversion. $850 for H22 drop...probebly cheaper if both are done at the same time.
