Default H22 Swap Questions

Just bought a 95 hatch with an sh h22 swap turbo. Car seems to REALLY vibrate when idling. Also the motor and tranny seem to sit REALLY low to the ground. I was wondering if the motor mounts the previous owner used were cheap and thats whats causing the vibration and the low clearance. I also noticed that he cut half the the stock passenger side mount back to make room for clearance of the tranny, and drilled a new hole for the bolt to go through, not sure if thats part of the swap or not. If anyone has any info on this swap fill me in. thanx

The passenger mount thing is actually part of the swap, because of the specific mount kit that was used. As for the vibration, you might want to check the rear engine mount bushings. About a year after my friend did his H22A swap with HCP mounts, he found that his rear mount bushing was torn. He just replaced the bushings and hasn't had a problem since. The H22A does sit a little lower than the D & B-series engines, but it could be the mounts that were used. If it's really a big issue, maybe consider getting some Hasport mounts.

Im about to buy some skunk 2 coilovers so i can raise the whole car up a bit since its on eibach springs now. i got the vibration down a little bit by changing out ecus. Car came running with a p13 thats chipped but cuts out at 5500 but no CEL. Then theres a chipped p28 that does the same thing but throws a CEL. So for the first time i threw in the stock p28 he also gave me and the engine runs alot smooter and doesnt vibrate as much and doesnt cut out at 5500. Car is running 550 cc dsm injectors with a afc controller street tuned. So im gonna run it with that ecu til i find a deal on a s300.

vibration to a point is normal i have my h22 in my 99 ek and it vibrates pretty hard at idle but at 1k its smooth (with hasport mounts), also i have my car slammed and the only thing i have to worry about is my headers. i think im going to invest in a header plate from passwordjdm. s300 is going to be your best bet im going to be switching to that soon im running a stock tuned p28 that runs nicely. have fun and be nice to your axles they were my first thing to go!!

theses are supposibly the custom made 300 hp axles. im in the process of swapping out the front mount setup for a water to air set for something different.
