Default sprung weight vs contact patch

With my autocross street touring car almost completed. 91 civic si.
koni/gc 500f 600r
ST rear sway
energy suspension bushings
hawk hps pads

After seeing the results from andy hollis tire test i have decided to start out the season with the new kumho ecsta xs in a 205/50r15.
I have gotten a deal on a set of 15x6.5 ssr-c from a good friend. It seems the norm is a 15x7 wheel normaly the rpf1.

With the 6.5in ssr being 2 pounds lighter than the rpf1 and other wheels at its price. Will i be shooting myself in the foot for not opting for a 7in wide wheel now. Just seeing what you guys think of my situation.

PS. if anyone wants to trade my ssr-c for a 15x7 rpf1 of similar weight wheel let me know!

I like the idea of a bigger contact patch

BTW, wheels and tires and a few other items in the suspension affect unsprung but not the sprung weight.

While the wheel might be lighter, you would still be wrapping it in an 18-21lb tire, so I wouldn't be too obsessed with the wheel weight. If you go for the 15x7, you can still cram a 225 on it later.

15x7 rpf1 is in the 9lb range.
