Default Clutch cable?

I was on my way to work when all of a sudden I heard this pop after I changed gears. The pedal comes back up but theres no pressure on it at all. The car won't go into gear anymore when I press on the clutch and it won't start anymore since I guess the clutch cable broke? Is my clutch cable broken or any have any other suggestions? I drive a 91 sedan

check the cable at the pedal and check it at the trans. I have both that i can sell pedals and cable. If both of those connections are intact check for cracks at pedal.

im gona say the pedal too since it wont start and the saftey switch is on the pedal so it would have nothing to do with the cable.

i took out my dash because i also had to replace my blower motor. seemed easier that way. when a buddy and me took out the pedal assembly out of an EX for the cruise control set up we took it all apart. if i remember correctly there are 7 nuts holding it on. 6 on the firewall and 1 on the top side. best way would be go the junkyard and take one apart so if you break anything it wont be on your car.

do not take out the dash.steering column only.and some plastic air ducting.you will need a couple of extensions and a swivel .air ratchet will be handy, but not nessary.

Why would you need to take out the steering column and plastic air ducting? I changed mine just by reaching under there.

You have to remove the air ducting to get to one of the bolts for the steering column if i remember right. Air ratchet is the way to go. Also remove the seat, makes it alot easier to lay in the car to get under the dash. Had my pedal brake when the guy i got the car from replaced the clutch cable with one from an integra instead of a crx. This will make a difference as the cable from the integra is actually bigger .Also plan on it taking awwhile , I think the book time for in and out was like 4 hours or something like that. It deffinately takes less time with air tools. Make sure you got some aleve ready too.
