Default 91 Accord: engine oil or MTF?

My dad took his 91 Accord (5 speed) for a transmission fluid drain and fill this morning. After looking at the receipt, I noticed that the mechanic used engine oil.

Should we just leave the oil or switch to Honda MTF?
Would MTF prolong the tranny's life?

Car has 187k miles..

Thanks!

As you probably know, The factory recommended manual trans fluid IS 10/30 or 10/40. So you wont damage anything useing 10/30. But if you switch to MTF, you will notice a shift improvement. And yes, your tranny will most likely have a prolonged life. SO DO IT!
