Default Best intake combiantion for B18C and AUtoX

Hey guys so im doing a swap for my ej1 and i am currently finishing the swap. its a GSR and my plans for this car will be AutoX. I didnt just wanna ask like many others what is the best intake for my car. Since ill be doing autoX i think CAI wont be the best since is a close track course and speed isnt the big deal, therefore i thought that short ram is better. If i get this right, i need power and torque in the mid range, right? i was thinking of the whale pinnes or prbly another K&N like i had before.

Also just so i look in the right direction. Do i need power and torque in low-mid range or mid-high end range for Auto X?

With a swap like that, you're in a class with serious firepower.

The intake won't make much, if any difference, in power. You want the best throttle response you can get, so go with a SRI.

But to answer the question, you need power in the super high end of the RPM range go run in Street Mod. High final drive, 275/35-15s up front, and a powerband that doesn't die off (too much) before 9k. And you'll still be pwn3d by D series powered Civics because they get to run at a lighter weight with the smaller displacement engines.

thanks for the info, i know the intake doesnt really matter but since i need to buy one anyways kuz it didnt come with intake i wanted to inquire. the autoX in my location isnt that big and there arent different classes. all cars are about the same. Its kinda shitty but thats all we have here in the canadian prairies.... so i need high-end power? eventho its a close circuit (AUTOX).... i wasnt sure about this

Didn't notice the Canada location before.

Yeah, you still want power up high.

I auto-x my GSR. Launch, shift when convenient into 2nd, and try and find the rev limiter between corners. I'm probably 80% of the time above 5k RPM. Only time more midrange power would help is coming out of the really slow corners, but even then I already spin the inside front tire (open diff).

hmm well why not try a front mount intercooler, that would probably give a good air flow for that high power your looking for

i was looking into the comptec airbox. gonna look more into this. as i need to work mostly on my suspension ill take sometime to pick a good intake and what about headers for mid-high end torque and power. i herad smsp and hypertech are good.
