I'll tell you what my 1992 Si hatch did with 2 different swaps. The car weighed 2289lbs. with full interior, and I ran on street tires.

B18C1: 14.6

B18C5: 13.9

This was at the same strip with the same conditions, etc.

The B18C1 had i/h/e, FPR, and camgears and was tuned to 150whp eith 122 torque.

The B18C5 had only I/E and ECU and was untuned at 175whp and 123 torque.

I've since sold my 1992 Si and gotten a 1992 Cx in which I reinstalled my B18C5 swap. I pulled 13.3@99mph in it with baby slicks at 1100ft. above sea level. It will probably pull 12.9 at the other lower track here in GA.

Everyone will post up totally different numbers because they all run at different tracks and elevations, temps, etc. but here's how the breakdown will go from fastest to slowest:

B18C5
B18C1
B16A2
B17A (160hp at the crank)
B20/B20Z
B18B

This is from what I've seen over the years, and from having owned all 3 B-VTEC swaps. I still have a B16A2 in my girl's 1992 Si hatch. Her B16A2 was not as quick as the B18C1 - it dynoed 143whp and 102 torque.

Some will argue the B20 vs. B16A thing, but I've seen a local B20Z with Skunk2 manifold on an LS tranny get beaten by his brother's less modded B16A swap in the same exact type of hatch.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha HA HA HAHa AHAHahgAHHAAHahAHahAHahaH

The all have failing head gaskets and blown rings................. you go nowhere.

This ? makes a much sense as Nascar. Do a search. Then waste countless 1000's trying to make a FWD car fast only to get your *** handed to you by a stock SS Camaro.
WTF are you talking about?

I didn't build my car to beat a SS camaro along with most everyone else here. I built mine to be faster than it was when I started. What fun is it to buy a almost $30k SS (which GM quit making) and say "There!" I built my car myself and I enjoy it, we could give a rats *** what your opinions on the matter are.

well i know a EG with an ITR motor makes 165whp....my old motor made 165whp and i ran 13.8 on street tires....so with a good driver there should be no reason why the car wouldnt hit high 13's....now i have lsvtec (which is for sale) it makes about 200whp and i ran a 13.3 on street tires....
its amazing what you can do to a motor with ALL FACTORY HONDA PARTS

um...when are camaros fast? Are you guys in domestic denial? Just because it weighs more than your little hatch doesnt make it slow.

Stock SS runs mid 13s, if thats not quick, hmm then I'll punch myself in the nuts!

a skunk/mugen program - should have looked a Hondata.com under Mugen program

b17a- WTF happens if you break something ?

Bored .25mm over - Why not buy a b18c for less.

CTR pistons balanced by spoon - Could buy brand new JE piston and rings for that price

Exedy Clutch - Why cost twice what ACT does and offers no advantage.

ITR JDM header - You have to port it just to match the stock DC JDM in power and 250 more $$$
exedy clutch is at 265 shipped currently, clutchcityonline.com

whats wrong with the mugen prog? so it over looks the KS sensor, and runs on the rich side, boohoo. hondata just trying to get the extra $

totaly agreed on the rest

Only start ****. a SS has been recorded runing a 12.8 on stock tires for about 24K from the dealer. The matter of swaping in 7K worth of motor and boltons to a shell of a stripped car just to go that fast is ludicriss. Look a the parts list for the last post. at least 7-8K worth of parts and labor to hopefully run 13's. Get a f'in grip.
Yeah everyone, sell your **** and buy a SS. I'm sure the $24k, insurance, gas, and upkeep will be nice on the ol wallet. The SS is a very nice car. Detroit finally got it right for once. But look around, lots of people don't care to buy a camaro or mustang, not that there is anything wrong with them it's just they prefer to make a honda fast. My honda is paid for, cost me around $4k so far (including car) and it's decently quick for what I have. Quit bashing people and give some useful advice without the weak comments

What do you care what he does with his car....!?

It's not your money... You don't have to drive it...

If he wanted a "factory fast" car, he would probably have one. So, quit acting like an idiot...

Ok, I Have been shooting for Cost effective. I found a B17a motor no trans, dist, ecu, for 480, Sold P/S + linkage for 100 profit. so Its like i paid 380 for my engine. It had a blown headgasket, i pulled the valve cover, didn't see rust so I gave it a shot. After dissassembly , it was found to have some lite rust in the cylinder walls, So I had the head cleaned and revitalized. Block needs boring so I ordered Ctr .25mm overbores. No JE pistons because I Wanted TO BUILD, all OEM! motor. so Ctr's it was! My copadres have had good success w/ exedy , Act is good too, i hear but I wouldnt know which stage to get and I didn't want a Harsh clutch.
On the Jdm Itr header, I am sure you have posts of dyno figures. But I was gonna buy a DC header from this one JDM business. But I got talked out of it to a less expensive header. The owner stated that the dc was more expensive and on their dyno tests for that particular application , it lost power as uposed to the Oem itr. He would have nothing to gain buy selling me a cheaper header!!! I got it w/ donut and flange for 435 Shipped!
I can get a chipped p28 for ~ 225. I don't know jack about hondatas and what is involved in tuning them(if that is neccessary) Plus I am fo
