Code 12, EGR valve: WTF?
i dont know whats goin on again, but i just dont care anymore. i was bored, so i thought to ask some of the guys in here to see what they thought.
i changed the o-rings to the pipe that connects to the water pump and the t-stat, which is a funny story in tiself, but when i reconnected the battery and everything else, the car threw the EGR code. i have no dea why. i didnt take off the EGR valve, so i dont know why its giving me that code. when i put my STr fuel rail in a long time ago, i had to replace the gasket to the EGR, and that got rid of the code, but i didnt touch it this time. im thinkin of resetting the ecu and seeing if that will do the trick. im so tired of fiddling with this car, that i just dont care, but that damn CEL bothers me when im driving. any ideas?

did u ever switch the pins A6 and A11 at the ECU? I've never gotten an EGR cel. You can trick the EGR into thinking it works fine by putting a thin sheet of metal between it (old muscle car trick)
I had the same code from my swap and it took me a month to find the problem. It turned out that on one of the vac tubes that the egr system uses had a mad tiny crack in it. you could barely see it but that whole system need to be air tight. I wrapped some electrical tape on it tight just to see if that was the problem and i never saw that light again, so then i just replaced the little tube. If you got the haines manual, just look up egr system and it shows u all the tubes in the system. The bad one for me was right near the intake manifold
